Exhibition

I have found a brilliant exhibition space in Winchester. The location is ideal as it it easy to get to. They rent the space out to both professional and amateur photographers.
It is called the Winchester Discovery Centre. Open 7 days a week which would really benefit us as then the exhibition is open to as many people as possible throughout the whole week.

Business Cards continued

I have now submitted my images for my final business card images. I choose 5 photographs that showed a range of techniques and that expressed the work I have done in landscape, portraiture and still life. Some are before the university course and some are during it.
I am happy with all the images I have used and hope that they can show my skills in all areas.

Gallery Space

Today I have been looking at possible gallery space for our year 2 exhibition. There was a lot of possibilities in london, but this worries me about price and the willingness of people travelling to see it. I think the best place is to find somewhere between London and Farnborough...

Norman Childs

Norman Childs is a photographer I am quite familiar of. He does advertising/still life photography. He works abroad on a lot of jobs, working for large engineering companies. I have chosen to email him to ask about getting started in the still life industry and he has become to work for such large profile companies in many various countries.
Although i would prefer not to photograph machinery like this photographer, I believe that he has good knowledge into the area of still life and can offer some great advice if he is able to answer my questions.

Photograph

I came across this photography by the photographer that i mentioned previously in the blog. Jonathan Knowles has done a lot of images that I really like, but this one really caught my eye. I love the high end advertising look and feel to the work and is something that I would absolutely love to try one day.

Jonathan Knowles

This is a photographer that I have been looking at a lot, due to my love for still life photography. His work is fascinating and the range of photographs is what I really like. I have used him for a lot of research for various uni projects in the studio.

business cards

Today I looked at possible photographs for my business cards, however, because I want to focus mainly on  still life in my future work, I am unsure if i should be using all still life work or trying to use a variety of my images from both before my degree course and during the course. Using landscape, still life and portraiture.

I have also looked at the size of cards I want to use and decided on mini cards. These are much smaller than normal business cards but I like the idea of using something more unusual so that perhaps my cards may make people stop and really look at them.

Business Card

This weekend I have been researching the idea of my business card for my uni project. Do I want a plain and simple design or one with a interesting shape and colour? Because I have the hope of eventually possibly working in still life or possible PR then I am struggling for a relavant picture for the business card. They are so far apart in terms of areas of Photography that I think I need to chose one or the other?
I will continue looking ones I find in shop and left by people in shop windows to advertise their services to get an idea of what sort of thing I want to use.

I have found a great site which shows you exactly what photography exhibitions are on in London or various area's depending where you wish to look for. It provides information about the time the galleries are open to and how long the exhibitions are on till.

Street Photography

This looks like a great exhibition to visit and it is on for a long period time too. The idea of Street photography really interests me and i am going to try and visit this before it ends. Street Photography plays a great part in our history of photography and this genre is definitely worth taking a look at.

Exhibitions

There is a 'Street Photography Exhibiton' coming up in 2011 at the Museum of London. Its is on until 4th September 2011. This has been posted as the critics choice, so a definate must see.

On the 24th March 2011, there is a Jean Claude Dagrou and Adam Patterson exhibition on at the Photo Fusion gallery in Brixton. It is on between 11:00 - 19:00 and it is free to go! The work looks at the man behind the macho exterior (gang members)
